Welcome to Adinkra Heritage Academy!
This summer, learn traditional rhythms and accompanying movements from the vibrant country of Ghana with live drumming from Master drummer Wandara!
This 5-week session is led by Instructors Ms. Hilda and Ms. Abena, both trained at the University of Ghana School of Performing Arts.
Together, we will be exploring dances such as Gota, Gahu, and Kpasta. Students will learn technique, rhythm, and the story behind the dances as well. This is for beginner dance and culture enthusiasts ages 12 and up. We believe in multi-age and generational learning as a means to embrace and strengthen the fibres of our African cultures.
